Activities


The Santosa foundation has initiated various activities to help the poor people in our area.

We started a school for handicapped children where 25-30 physically and/or mentally disabled children come. Early 2007 we began a workshop where the handicapped children that are too old for the school can make traditional hand-made paper.

We built a small library; Here the children also find a quiet place to study.

Special attention is given to education; every day we provide extra classes like math, English, Singalese, dancing, and computer class for the children in our area. We encourage the older children to follow courses to improve there chance to find a good job.

Families that really need it - most of them without a father - receive food help. Every month we provide food packets with the most basic things like rice, sugar etc. Santosa provides a daily meal rich of nutrition to over 100 children from our village.

We encourage sports a lot. Santosa has a play-ground and we have a room where - also during the rain season - children can play.

Social help is provided to families and elderly people: basic health care, first aid, counseling, help with housing etc.

And many other activities take place as well like building toilets, providing clean drinking water etc.
